Crowding

When there isn’t enough room for all the teeth to fit, or if the jaws are smaller than they should be, teeth can overlap, become misaligned, and grow too closely together. Overcrowding prevents the permanent teeth from moving into the correct position, and can even prevent them from coming in at all. When teeth are properly aligned, they can function as intended, and are easiest to clean. Crowded teeth, on the other hand, wear unevenly, are difficult to keep clean, and contribute to compromised bone and gums.
