Open Bite

Open bite describes a lack of vertical overlap of the teeth, and can occur in the front of the mouth or on either side. When the upper and lower front teeth don’t meet uniformly and in a very specific manner, it creates an opening on one or both sides of the mouth. Because the front teeth don’t share biting force equally, the condition may lead to premature wear of the the affected teeth.
